Custom Made Hydraulic Hoses

At Edmonton Brake & Clutch, we have the equipment to assemble brake & clutch hoses that comply to international safety standards. If you need a hydraulic hose off of any type of vehicle (including motorcycles), we can make it up. You can either call in with the measurements or bring a sample to our shop and have a hose made up the same day.

If you’re looking to customize your setup, we offer stainless steel braided brake hoses in 5 different colours (red, green, blue, black, and clear).

If you’re not too sure that you’re in need of replacing a brake hose, here are some things to consider:

• The average life of a brake hose is six years
• Brake hoses swell with age and restrict flow
• Contaminants in brake fluid act abrasively on the inner wall of brake hoses
• Brake hoses deteriorate from the inside as well as the outside
• High operating temperatures in brake systems contribute to the deterioration of hoses

That’s why we make sure every hose we build:

• is compliant to SAE J1401 and DOT standard FMVSS106
• is pressure tested to 3000 p.s.i.
• is of original equipment quality

Generally, all brake hoses on a vehicle deteriorate at the same rate. All hoses should be replaced if one is found to be faulty. If you find that you’re in need of a new hose, whether it be for brakes or clutches, you can always request a quote or contact us if you need further information.
