ABOUT EBC

edmonton brake and clutch parts and service shop

Main Entrance on the North Side of Building

In a time of burly mustaches, with disco slowly fading away, Edmonton Brake & Clutch Ltd. opened its doors in February of 1979. Technicians and entrepreneurs, Joe and Jim Paquette (also brothers), were looking to establish themselves in the automotive and heavy duty repair industry. Both having a passion for the technical aspects of brakes & clutches, and a sturdy attitude towards problem solving, Joe and Jim were determined to open a repair shop in northwest Edmonton.

Thirty years later, this dream-turned-reality is still alive. Edmonton Brake & Clutch Ltd. is one of Alberta’s leading agricultural, automotive, heavy truck, trailer, industrial, and off-road / recreational equipment repair shops for… Brakes & Clutches! Being a fully equipped shop, EBC has all the right tools for parts installation, rebuilding, relining, resleeving, resurfacing, and parts locating. With decades of experience, they are relied on for their expertise in trouble-shooting your automotive and heavy duty needs.

Environmental Responsibility

automotive parts remanufacturerAs a parts rebuilder, EBC is aware of it’s responsibility to the environment. That’s why we are a member of the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association (APRA). Being a part of this association helps us stay connected to the automotive parts rebuilding community. This means that when one of our customers brings in an “antique” component, we can tap our resources to keep your parts out of the garbage and have them working like new again.

Remanufacturing parts is environmentally responsible in a number of different ways:

  • Energy Conservation: Automotive and truck parts are kept out of the the resmelting process longer because of remanufacturing. As a result, millions of barrels of oil or comparable forms of energy are saved.
  • Raw Material Conservation: Remanufacturing gives a product numerous lives instead of just one, thereby saving on raw materials. Rebuilders annually save millions of tons of natural resources such as iron, aluminum, copper, etc.
  • Landfill Space Conserved: Landfills are spared from the dumping of millions of tons of iron, aluminum, copper, etc, because of the monetary value the industry places on parts. This “core charge” ensures parts are returned to be rebuilt.
  • Air Pollution Reduced: Once again, keeping parts out of the resmelting process benefits the environment by reducing the air pollution that is generated by resmelting.
